How do I wash cloth diapers?

Washing All-in-One cloth diapers is a relatively simple process.

Before first use

WASH in warm water and DRY on low heat THREE times to ensure best absorbency from the start.

Wash:

Remove any solid waste into the toilet at the time of diaper change. For best results, we recommend washing dirty diapers every 1-3 days.

First wash them in COLD water with no detergent to remove any remaining debris or residue. Use a pre-rinse or speed wash cycle. Then, wash the diapers in HOT water using a detergent that is free of fragrances, dyes, and fabric softeners and an EXTRA-RINSE cycle. Choose a detergent that is specifically formulated for cloth diapers or one that is free of additives that can build up on the diapers and affect their absorbency.

You may choose to do additional rinse cycles to ensure that all the detergent has been removed. This is important because any leftover detergent can irritate your baby's skin and affect the absorbency of the diapers. The need for additional rinses can be avoided by not over-using detergent and using a powder detergent.

Dry

You can air-dry the AIO diapers by hanging them on a line or drying rack, or you can put them in the dryer on low heat. Avoid using high heat or a hot dryer cycle as this can damage the elastic and waterproof layers of the diapers. Never use any dryer sheets with your cloth diapers.
